Trip report (finally--[livejournal.com profile] mangaroo, you can stop holding your breath now. Are you still alive?)! There are a couple pictures in here that I've already posted, just for posterity, but I tried to keep them to a minimum, or just link.

After much strategizing last night, we split up today and basically ran around trying to buy up as much doujinshi as we could carry. We left early this morning and the line wasn't nearly as bad because we were much closer to the front, so we moved forward fairly quickly once the doors opened.

Natsukomi in summary )

When thinking about this trip, I was all, "Yay, Japan! Yay, Comiket!" but now...I'm happy with my (tiny) Comiket haul, I really am, just...MY GOD am I glad Comiket is over. That many people should just never, ever be in one spot.

As we prepared to enter the final hallway into the East Hall today, I heard the following conversation behind me:

Guy 1: Oh, crap.
Guy 2: What?
Guy 1: It's the final torture.

He wasn't kidding. It was unbelievably hot and crowded and the line barely crawled forward--and this is in comparison to the painfully hot and crowded line we'd been in for the last two and a half hours. I suppose, technically, the final torture was the train ride home, but at least that was air-conditioned. This is far from my first Comiket, but I seriously can't believe how crowded it was today. If tomorrow is this bad, I may throw myself into Tokyo Bay before I even buy anything.

ETA - see the line of doom )

Tomorrow is the day of the 8 million BL authors--we have some serious strategizing to do tonight.

Alive and well in Japan. As Comiket approaches, the shops on Otome Road get more and more crowded. Yesterday was a madhouse--I waited over an hour to sell some doujinshi at Mandarake. (I didn't realize the wait would be so painfully long until I was handed number 87 and shortly thereafter heard them calling number 25.)

Also, BEST T-SHIRT EVER )

Oops, 10:00, time to head to Animate!

I think I'm done packing, which of course means I'm overwhelmed with the feeling I'm forgetting something. But I know I have my passport, money, and shopping list; I can't think of anything else I can't make do without.*

We may or may not spring for internet in our room, so I have no idea how much access I'll have to e-mail and/or LJ for the next two weeks.

...And now I'm going to go snuggle kitties for the rest of the evening. (Sometimes I wish kitties were more portable. ;_;)

*This is, of course, an absolutely ludicrous statement given the amount of luggage I have.
