Jimmy John's just brought me a sample. Yum!

Crazy description of a woman's body from an old fantasy novel--"purple" is putting it mildly. Don't miss the fanart.

What happens when a chocolate bunny and jar of peanut butter fall in love? (I need THE WORLD needs more commercials like this.)

Twilight Parody (Or: why Twilight should be remade as a Bollywood musical)

I should've known that the Japanese translation of Twilight would have illustrations. (I like how petulant Bella looks on the first cover.) Some of the pictures confuse me. Is this supposed to be Jacob? Also, apparently Carslisle has black hair and is in the Yakuza now.

I finished Breaking Dawn before I even had a chance to post about Eclipse. And, BTW, I freaking LOVED it. I...am not sure it was entirely in a snarky, ironic way. >.> thoughts )

P.S. to [livejournal.com profile] mereflair: This is a link to the wank about the fanfic I was talking about. Only skip most of the stuff in the entry itself; the comments is where you'll find most of the fun, see especially this thread. (See also: Charlie the Unicorn.)

From this article:

At a midnight screening in Texarkana, Texas, last Thursday, a gentleman dropped to his knee with a ring as the credits rolled. To the delight of the screaming crowd, he asked his girlfriend if theirs might be as enduring and unconditional a love as the one shared by Edward and Bella.

AAAGH, GROSS GROSS GROSS not to mention CREEPY AS HELL. If I ever had a boyfriend who suggested we have a relationship like Edward and Bella, I wouldn't know whether to laugh in his face or run screaming.

Also:

So, newcomers to the "Twilight" phenomenon like Calvin Johnson went into a Los Angeles screening on Friday night thinking he and his friend were walking into a horror film. "We're hoping to see at least a couple of teenage girls get their heads cut off," the 44-year-old said. Alas, he surely went home disappointed, just like Mack Sims, 42, who left a Manhattan screening well before the credits. "Horrible!" he cried on his way out of the theater.

I totally wish one of these guys (or some others like them) had been at my theater so I could have laughed at him. If he knew so little about Twilight, how did he even know it had vampires in it? I wonder if somebody at the ticket counter recommended it as a joke.

...sorry. But I am totally in love with the soundtrack, I mean, what is this shit:

First time I saw you (when we first met)
I had the fever (as bad as it gets)
You let me see (much in my eyes)
It was so smooth, sparkle and shine
And it shined

Come ON guys, you can't sing about this stuff. I am not kidding, just stop it. SMOOTH, SPARKLE AND SHINE??? No. Not allowed.

*puts song on repeat*

Also, six chapters into New Moon....ugh. UGH. My post-movie high wasn't enough to get me through more than the first chapter before I started hating on it. Bella is even more horrible to her "friends" than she was in the first book. How is that even possible? Why does she have to be the worst heroine ever? Can I skip to Breaking Dawn yet? Wait, crap, I already reserved Eclipse from the library.

28 Reasons that Twilight the movie is better than the book All true. (Well, except for the prom thing. Yeah, it was pretty, but come on, the high school in a town of 3,000 cannot afford a prom like that.) I especially love when they quote the book and are like "YAY THIS WASN'T IN THE MOVIE."

Is it possible to make New Moon into a good movie, too? (Hope springs eternal...)

wednesday_10_00: (books are good for you)
This post is mostly because because [livejournal.com profile] mereflair doesn't check her e-mail, but I dunno, I guess I'll throw this out here for anyone else who might care:

I've been reading about Twilight lately. Um, a lot. If you live under a rock haven't heard of Twilight, it's a teen romance with vampires. Vampires that SPARKLE. (Literally, I mean. They can't go into the sun because then everyone would notice their GLITTERING FACES. OMG, MERE, I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THEY SPARKLE)

The books are...awful, honestly. The main character is an annoying Sue, her love interest is a creepy stalker who SPARKLES, the writing is bland; repetitive with the occasional bizarre description (adjective #374 that should never be used to describe eyes: buttery), and WTF, I kind of love them? I've been reading so much funny stuff about the books lately that I somehow (accidentally!) bought the first one yesterday and reading it is filling me with a kind of sick glee. Also, I CAN'T WAIT for the movie this winter and I think I've totally lost my mind or something, help.

Anyway, um... links to some stuff which is funny whether you have read the books or not )
