But the important thing is that I (and my luggage) made all my connections just fine.

I have never quite recovered from the trauma of having half my luggage go to the wrong garrison. Every time, I find myself carefully dividing up everything between the two suitcases so that at least SOME underwear will make it to Japan. (And then I think about taking one as a carry on, but I usually check it in the end.)

By the time we got to the manga branch, I was so exhausted I didn't have the will to make any decisions to buy anything, even when Sara held a book up to me and said, "Hey, this is out of print and it's on your list, do you want it?" (In retrospect, I feel this is like that scene in Ghostbusters: "When someone asks you if you're a god, say yes!")

LOL! I was so confused by that conversation (being completely brain-dead from having just landed didn't help). "You don't want it? Um, ok..."

After waking up, we played a game (Shadowrift) until stores opened.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about Shadowrift (even though it was in my trip notes). Even now, I can barely remember how the game was played, although I remember the koori theme and the feeling of inevitable collective doom (so similar to the way I always feel when playing Zombicide, which I swear is unwinnable). Jet lag and my brain are not compatible when it comes to learning new games.

It turned out to be a really adorable little shop, and the best game shop we visited the whole trip--though the other ones I went to were in Akihabara the day before Comiket, so crowding may have been a factor in my dislike of them.

Sugorokuya was totally the best game shop! The crowding in Akihabara certainly didn't help, but none of those shops had anything like as good of a selection, either.

(my kitties and leopards!! ;_;)

Aw, I had forgotten it was the kitties and leopards that got folded. I hope Kagami recovers!

Aw, Chiro-chan! I had forgotten her name. Such a lovely maneki-neko.

Actually, think I got off lightly compared to some of my shopping companions.

Yeah, I haven't added up the Comiket days on their own (I could, but I'm not sure I want to...), but I'm pretty sure I was the worst. I invariably panic when confronted with an entire table of stuff, and start carpet-buying. (Kodaka Attack on Titan doujinshi for the win! I still haven't started watching that.)

I will also say it was the same person [you know who you are!] who didn't replace the empty roll and had bought more toilet paper--so I wasn't out after dropping the last roll in the toilet--so we'll call that a karmic wash.

Oh, very nice. Careful, karma is a bitch. =P

at night we had okonomiyaki for dinner (our only time this trip, kind of sad?)

I am sad we only had okonomiyaki once, but glad we managed to fit it in somewhere. (Ditto the crepes.) When [livejournal.com profile] gaminette and I went, we both loved okonomiyaki so much that we went to about ten different branches of Monjaya in different parts of Tokyo. It was awesome!

I'm glad you got a picture of the millefeuille (or whatever that layered crepe thing was) - that was amazing. (Also, ha, I don't know how you got that much light on it -- flash photo? -- because we were eating in absolute darkness, as I remember. Invisible delicious food!)

I don't think anyone has ever told me that before?

I had the same issue with the Narita bus the next morning, and that bus was fairly full, so I had to take my (very heavy!) carry-on on the bus with me. Fortunately it wasn't so full that I couldn't wedge it into a seat next to me.

I'm so envious of your manga on its shelves! I did manage to clear shelf space for the doujinshi, but my manga is still in boxes (with the stuff I'm trying to read nearest the top). I need to figure out how to clear more space in the manga room.

Thank you for the report and especially for the pictures! I'm sad that I didn't take any pictures of the apartment (except a few of the kitchen manga closet) - I'll have to go look at your album and see if you got any.
