Ahaha orz

His and Her bookends

...I think you know what I'm thinking: But after I buy the two sets, what do I do with the leftover girls?

LOL! Give them to a girl couple or donate them to a feminist library/group :-D

I'm sure I wouldn't have trouble selling a "Hers and Hers bookend set" on ebay, right?

You use it for your yuri collection, of course.

/bitter irony (why isn't there more good yuri?)

I second this. Ha.

Btw do you have any yuri recs? I think I own about... Three tankoubons I like, and the rest (not that many though) I'm either mehh about or didn't even finish bother reading.

[identity profile] wednesday-10-00.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, actually, I'm curious about those three you like. (I don't really have any yuri; gotta start somewhere.)

春夏秋冬 - Zaou Taishi & Eiki Eiki. Not as good as Princess Princess, but hey it's Zaou Taishi. Doing yuri.

かわいいあなた - I love this. The stories are so gentle, the artwork is cute (very shoujo, but good shoujo, especially since this is the mangaka's first book), and I just realised the mangaka has a new volume out. Need to get it.

楽園の条件 - I was expecting brainless smut with a cover like that, honestly, and didn't know why I'd bothered getting it. But it turned out to have hardly any smut and contains some cute one-shots. Artwork's not as good as Kawaii Anata, but decent enough.

ときめき☆もののけ女学園 - Nangoku Banana! The story gets kinda messy in the second half and has some really needless fanservice but it's still funny. Pure Nangoku Banana crack. The protagonist wonders about male rokurokubi - are their adam's apple at the bottom or the top of their necks when they stretch out?

Oooh, thanks! I'll definitely check these out. (I had no idea Nangoku Banana did yuri. Huh!)

Also, I really need to read Princess Princess someday. >.>

Np. ^^ I didn't know she did either. I did a Yuri Hime search, saw her name and pounced. Ha.

Yes, yes you need to. And the doujins for smut. I'm not crazy over her other works, but Princess Princess is gooood.

Thank you for the recs below above! Unfortunately, I don't have anything to add. I WANT to like yuri, but it seems like every time I read a title, it's in the depressing-as-heck aiming-for-realism camp. Sorry, but if I wanted depressing gay realism, I'd read Mary Renault's The Charioteer again (for the ten thousandth time). Where is my Harlequin romance fantasy yuri?

Will definitely check out your recs!

EDIT: OCD

[identity profile] bis-cuit.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
No problem! I find my yuri by doing a general Yuri Hime search, but the results are kinda hit and miss. I sometimes look at this yuri rec blog, but the blogger only rates their 百合度 and not how much she likes them. I should probably try and look for some other yuri blogs, they must exist. Hurm.

Everyone already took my response(s).
