argh

My cell phone is missing. I can't remember using it since last Wednesday--I wish I could, because if it was just lying around the house somewhere with a dead battery, I'd be THRILLED. As it is...I'm afraid it fell out of my purse while I was shopping Wednesday. The good news is that I checked my account and there are still minutes on it, so it doesn't seem like someone picked it up and used it until the battery died. So I guess I'll have to make the lost and found rounds, and hope that some good samaritan picked it up and turned it in.

I just--I think I still haven't mentally recovered from having my ipod stolen, because I just feel so sick of this. I need...remember idiot mittens, with the clips that attached to the sleeves of your coat? I need those things for my gadgets. orz

oh noes!!! At leat you still have minutes! Do you think it could have fallen down behind something in the house? (do you leave your purse somewhere it could have fallen from and hidden out?)

The thing is, I rarely use it in the house; usually it's just sitting in my purse, which stays on a hook with my coat. So I don't have a lot of hope that it's at home. :/ I'm going to look around more thoroughly at home tonight (was hoping it was at work), and then check around some stores tomorrow.

I hope your phone turns up. That sounds really frustrating.

I'm frustrated at myself, mostly. It makes me feel like I shouldn't be allowed to have gadgets. But I can't seem to live without them. Oh well.

We sometimes find long lost things under the driver's seat or between the driver's seat and the door or in that little pocket of the door.
"Tony, Tony, look around. Something's lost and must be found." (Our prayer to St. Anthony, patron saint for finding lost things.)

"Tony, Tony, look around. Something's lost and must be found."

That's so cute! And thank you for the advice, but I've already looked under my car seats. I will probably look again if it doesn't turn up at a lost and found.

I get nervous as gadgets get smaller. Did you find your phone? When a cell phone goes missing, do you report it lost, like a credit card?

[identity profile] wednesday-10-00.livejournal.com 2009-01-14 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I imagine you would report it if you have a phone with a contract/plan, but mine is prepaid, so I don't have to worry about that.

What really annoys me, honestly, is that I was only planning on keeping it for another 6 months or so, because my present to myself for paying off my credit card was going to be an iPhone. An iPhone is most definitely not in my budget right now, but the idea of buying a new phone to use for 6 months seems so stupid. Argh.

If/when I find it, I will definitely post about it.

Argh I'm so sorry to hear about this. I had my phone stolen once, so you have my sympathy. =(
