Too many books
I can't see how I have any hope of reviewing the massive pile of manga I brought back from Japan, so I will have to think of a different way of doing things. Tonight's experiment:
Random Scans of Things That Cracked Me Up

Sand moai!? I laughed SO hard when I saw this. Unfortunately, that was pretty much the highlight of Yappari Koi no Sei. There were a couple funny moments, but the main characters didn't do much for me. (Or, rather, I liked the uke okay, but disliked the seme, to the point that I wished the uke would go off and find somebody better.) The secondary couple might have made up for it...if they'd had more screen time.

Bunny sweater Phoenix. BUNNY SWEATER PHOENIX. So,despite Phoenix's increasingly dorky clothes, the Gyakuten Saiban manga is fun...but not nearly as much fun as the games. First of all, Edgeworth is really only in volume 2, a major disappointment for me, especially since he's so amazing when he is around that it makes it seem even worse when he's not. (Steel Samurai manjuu, hee!) Also, I feel like the humor is kind of lacking (in the courtroom especially), which leaves big chunks of the manga kind of boring. I mean, no humor, no solving the mystery, no plot...what's left?
As a side note, I can accept that the manga takes place outside the game timeline; it's sort of necessary in order to have Edgeworth and Franziska as prosecutors without a long explanation of why they're back inLA Japan. But. BUT. What's with Phoenix's "Wow, that girl is cute, she looks like my old college girlfriend!" comment? (With a picture of Iris, just in case we think he might have ever had another girlfriend.) I'M CONFUSED.
One of these days I might actually finish my report on my Japan trip. (Be afraid. It's long! Very long!)
