wednesday_10_00 | more cell phone whining

So, after repeated searches through my car and house, and visiting every shop I was in last week to inquire if anyone had found my poor, lost, lonely cell phone (*sniffle*), I've come up with a big fat zilch. I've concluded that I must have somehow dropped it in a parking lot, and it then got plowed up into a mountain of snow, where it will stay until mid-June or so.

sidetracking from self-pity momentarily:

Asking around for my phone was fun, in a questy way. (Also, the kids at Build-A-Bear are our new best friends. They gave us free Chococat plushies [did you know Chococat was a BOY??] and are totally adorable. Also, let's not forget the kid at Best Buy who offered me a Jitterbug. M: "KEEP THAT BACK THERE, WE DON'T EVEN WANT IT.") The best was Target, where

M: OMG, IT'S IN THAT COUCH!
D: Let's check it! I WOULD LAUGH SO HARD.
M: If we found it there, it would be EPIC. Even if it's not there, you should tell people you found it there!

(It wasn't. I didn't. This is a tale of woe, not epic hilarity.)

Anyway...I guess my next step is to go to Alltel and find out if I can keep my number/account without paying a bajillion dollars for a new phone. I don't think I'll do this tonight, because the prospects are too depressing. (Not that I'm that attached to my old number. It's just annoying to switch every six months.)

Also, I guess I won't be buying that new scanner this month.
