wednesday_10_00 | more cell phone drama

So, my new (pink!) phone arrived. At first I was thrilled, and rushed right into Alltel to get it activated. (The only bright spot here: I really don't have to pay any sort of fee to switch to a new phone and keep my old number.) I noticed right away that the front cover fit a little funny...but that was okay, my dad (who has the same phone) showed me how his was the same way. I was like, well, huh, my old phone wasn't like that, but whatever, I can live with it. Then I noticed that the outer LCD display wasn't working. Once in a while, it'll flash some numbers, but mostly it's just a blank glow. Um. Well, yeah, that's annoying, but I could live with it--I mean, I could still open the phone up to see what time it was or if I had a voicemail or whatever. But I thought I would maybe e-mail the seller and see if they'd knock a little off the price. But then, I woke up this morning and went to show my dad how the outer display wasn't working, and the battery was dead. The battery that I'd fully charged yesterday. So...yeah, that's a problem. My old phone lasted a week at least, so I know this is not typical. So I charged it back up, just to see, but if it dies that fast again, I'm definitely going to have to return it. Ugh. I'm hoping we can work out some kind of trade (they had a couple other lots for the same phone, just with different plate colors, so I know they must have a bunch of them). The item description says they're willing to work out returns and refunds within 15 days, so I'm crossing my fingers. I wonder if they'll let me keep the pink case...:(

On top of all of this crap, apparently Alltel has changed its policy about downloading/receiving attachments, so I have no way to get my old Phoenix Wright ringtone to my new phone. WOE.
