Comket Day Three: 17-4

After much strategizing last night, we split up today and basically ran around trying to buy up as much doujinshi as we could carry. We left early this morning and the line wasn't nearly as bad because we were much closer to the front, so we moved forward fairly quickly once the doors opened.

Circles conquered today:
Toudou Natsuo
Kitasato Senju
Naono Bohra
Fujii Mitori
Yamato Nase
CJ Michalski/Himawari Souya
Kodaka Kazuma
Miyamoto Kano
Tennouji Mio
Itsuki Kaname
Fujisaki Kou
Asou Kai
Yoneda Kou (longest line EVER but Onoda/Deguchi = ♥ ♥ ♥)
Minami Haruka
Shimazaki Tokiya
Shimada Hisami
Murakami Sachi

Circles that conquered us:
Takanaga Hinako (I was seriously FOUR SPOTS back from the table when they announced the new Aru Hi was sold out >.<)
Matsuoka Natsuki
Inariya Fusanosuke (...and the reason I was not in Takanaga Hinako's line soon enough was because I was looking for THIS line, but that was pointless because she was gone by the time we got in [~11:00])
Miroku Kotoko

...Prolly going to be trolling K-Books for the next few days to hunt for some of these. :/

In summary:

Not bad for three days of shopping by three people (not including requests from friends).

Also, the SGA doujin I was talking about yesterday:

("The Most Genius Scientist in Two Galaxies" and "Do Pilots Dream of Astrophysicists?")

[This girls at this table were so adorable--they giggled at everything we said to each other while looking at these, though probably hardest when I called across the room, "Hey Sara, they have McShep here!" Best random find EVER.]

In case you doubt the amount of strategizing we did:

When thinking about this trip, I was all, "Yay, Japan! Yay, Comiket!" but now...I'm happy with my (tiny) Comiket haul, I really am, just...MY GOD am I glad Comiket is over. That many people should just never, ever be in one spot.

OMG I can't even fathom how much energy is required to survive the day!! Kudos to you (and boo to Takanaga and Inariya... so sorry about it). Was Narazaki Souta there too? :DD (and very giddy to see Fujii Mitori dj in your pic) And anyone look at you funny for being a non-Japanese at comiket? XDD *hugs*

AGH I totally forgot I can ask you. :)
I just bought some books by Sakiya Haruhi under the Rutile label and they come with coupons that you can send to the publisher to get a special booklet with extra chapters in 2010 May. I really wanted it for myself by they don't send overseas (boooo) and since I happen to have all 4 coupons and I don't want them to go wasted I can send them to you if you're interested at all. I know you read her stuff but I don't know if you like her enough. ^_^; Let me know what you think! <33

Aww, thanks for thinking of me, but unfortunately it doesn't do me any good either, since I don't live in Japan anymore, and my friends that used to live here have also gone home since.

(We didn't see Narazaki Souta in the catalogue, but I don't know her circle name, so I can't say for sure that she wasn't there.)

Oooh it's okay then, just checking. ^_~

BTW you back home already? Have you bought/read Ze vol.8 yet? Do you follow the series? I desperately need to talk/cry to someone about it. ;_; (DON'T READ ANY REVIEWS/SPOILERS) TT_TT

All right I know you're probably still exhausted from Comiket Hell I'll leave you alone. XDD *hugs*

Yay Naono Bohra and Yamato Nase! Boo Takanaga Hinako!! D: I can't even imagine the crowd thing, and really, don't even want to... good luck hunting. :) I don't watch SGA, but I laughed at your McShep story. And yeah, totally random find WIN!

[identity profile] wednesday-10-00.livejournal.com 2009-08-16 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I was a little(?) tired and cranky on Friday, so the McShep thing totally made my day. Sometimes random looking around DOES pay off.

wow it sounds like you did great with what you had but OMG No! for you and Sara on Takanaga :( so freaking close too :(

Thank you again for Miyamoto Kano *hugs* :D I appreciate it so!

[identity profile] wednesday-10-00.livejournal.com 2009-08-16 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
They didn't have any posters left at Miyamoto Kano's table. :/ But I did get the new dj and the postcards. :)

Oh, please tell me orange and yellow are actually color-coding and you didn't just run out of yellow tabs and have to start using orange.

What's on Muroi's head?

Also, would it start an international incident if I went to Japan and explained that Rodney is not the most genius scientist in the Milky Way galaxy?

[identity profile] wednesday-10-00.livejournal.com 2009-08-16 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
OF COURSE it's color-coded. Orange was "must see," yellow was "check out if we have time." If I'd had flags in different colors, it probably would've been more specific. (You should see [livejournal.com profile] spacealien_vamp's shopping list!)

きりたんぽ (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%81%8D%E3%82%8A%E3%81%9F%E3%82%93%E3%81%BD) (kiritanpo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiritanpo)). It's tied to his head because tanks don't have hands.

Rodney might not be the most genius scientist in the Milky Way, but I suspect he thinks he is, and that is what the title refers to. (I haven't read it yet, but that would be my interpretation.)

[identity profile] mangaroo.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I melt with delight over both the kiritanpo (OMG! slashy dinner invitation) and your explanation that tanks don't have hands.

There must be rainbow tags for next comiket. Did you guys split up into groups?

[identity profile] mangaroo.livejournal.com 2009-08-17 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, look. I can read: "we split up today and basically ran around trying to buy up as much doujinshi as we could carry"

Never mind. Except my point was each group needs their own Must and Maybe colored flags.

"Yoneda Kou (longest line EVER but Onoda/Deguchi = ♥ ♥ ♥)"

Sigh... I want this one sooo much. I wonder if any of her doujinshi will ever start dropping in prize in the second-hand stores...

I didn't realise Fusanosuke Inariya was around on the last day! (@_@) I actually went to her table on the 1st day and that was it. I hope I didn't miss out on anything extra she might have had on the final day! (><;) What was her circle name on the 3rd day?

And I was in the Itsuki Kaname queue when they announced that Takanaga's new Aru Hi was sold out next door lol. Man, that sure was depressing, I tell you... (Especially when you have to suffer all that heat before you get into the Big Sight)

Circles that conquered me were Fuwa Shinri, Ougi Yuzuha and Takanaga. The one I was saddest about tho was Fuwa Shinri, since I went to her table right after I finished my 1st one (Yamato Nase) slightly past 11 and it was already sold out by then!? WTH! I wish she made more of her copy books, damn.

And Yoneda Kou's queue was absolute madness eh!? I went round there 4x before I finally decided to start queueing for a copy on my last round (at 1+) and I still had to wait bout 20 mins in line! Gah!

[identity profile] wednesday-10-00.livejournal.com 2009-09-08 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I was pretty ticked about Inariya, because I checked her blog AFTER we got back to the hotel on Friday, so that was when I realized she'd been there that day. :/ Supposedly on Sunday she was going to have a "新刊セット," (all the new stuff together, nothing sold separately), but for all I know, she didn't even show up because everything sold out on Friday. I certainly never saw her.

Yeah, so many authors sold out so early! It was depressing. Frankly, though, I'm amazed Yoneda Kou didn't--how did she have enough, with so many people in line??
