organizing and shipping woes

^ The current arrangement of my Sekaiichi Hatsukoi DVDs. Setting aside my annoyance that they labeled the episode 12.5 DVD cover "volume 12.5" (instead of 6.5, like it should be), I'm fussing over the extras discs. (The ones currently between 2-1 and Spirited Away, not volumes 0 and 6.5 12.5, which are staying where they are.) Should they go

1. [series 1] [series 1 extras] [series 2] [series 2 extras]
2. [series 1] [series 2] [all extras]
3. just move the damn extras off the shelf
4. something else

...?

(Yes, I seriously think about these things.)

(More importantly, I'm sad that the second series looks like it's not coming with any extra manga booklets. I wonder what kind of pressure Nakamura is under to churn out as much manga as possible. Almost makes me feel guilty for wishing she would write more Takano/Ritsu already. Almost.)

I don't think I have really talked about this in detail because nobody cares, but Amazon Japan has changed their shipping policies, so the "group in as few shipments as possible" option has gone back to "this will only be one shipment, no matter how far apart the release dates are." Last summer, when I put all of the first Sekaiichi Hatsukoi series DVDs into one order, they shipped to me as they were released, with no additional cost to me. But when I tried to do the same with series two, it listed the ship date as May 25th for all of them. (For a few weeks, I sat on the order, to see if I could maybe actually stand to wait until May to get them. That...did not last, obviously.) Shipping each volume separately costs the same as them being in individual orders, so there's no way to get around a ¥2000 cost for shipping each volume. (Even with that, Amazon is still the cheapest place to get it, because they discount the price of the DVD itself by about ¥1700.)

[To be fair, I can totally see why Amazon would change their policy. Their shipping prices are outrageous, but there's no way they weren't losing money on people like me ordering whole series in one go like that. It still sucks, though.]

What I WANT to do is, since I'm making a monthly order at Amazon anyway, just order my monthly manga there. But I spent some time this morning calculating costs, and I figure that for the same cost, I can get 5-6 more books with SAL shipping from BK1...it's just that it will take 2-3 weeks (or a MONTH, like my December magazines, sheesh) instead of 2-3 days. [Note: [livejournal.com profile] spacealien_vamp told me the other day that BK1 won't ship CDs by SAL, and I assume it's the same with DVDs, if I were even willing to do that, which I'm not because SAL isn't insured and I would probably suffer from constant panic attacks while the package was en route.]

What I am saying is...I don't know what I'm saying. I'm going around in circles in my head with this. I did my January order the economical way and February the speedy way (because I needed to order Silver Diamond anyway), and...I don't know where I'm going after that. orz
