Me: I want to support small businesses more!
Also me: *places $100+ order at ShopDisney*

πŸ™„

Not only did I place an order at the US Disney Store, I also fell in love with this wallet at the Japanese Disney Store, so...I maybe ordered that also (through a deputy). Also, because I'm weak to the new Nuimo trend (that was part of my order to the US store), I had to get this...I might have a problem.

I keep checking Target to see if they've put the new Animal Crossing/Sanrio amiibo cards up for pre-order, but they haven't yet. *stares intensely at Target*

On another note, I've been watching a lot of cartoons lately (Dragon Prince, Adventure Time, She-Ra, Steven Universe, and [currently] Owl House)...I have Thoughts but also I don't remember how to put my thoughts into something coherent anymore so that's to come, maybe.

(this is a whole lot of nothing, but I'm still trying to form a habit)

Since Taiyousha finally(?) posted their release list for December manga, I feel like my shopping list is in pretty good shape, so... here it is. Obviously I will continue to add (and hopefully remove!) titles as we get closer to the trip, but let's call this version 1.0 (officially out of beta testing).

1. Due to my pact with [livejournal.com profile] mangaroo, I can't reveal the meaning behind my color-coding system. I might give some hints if you ask real nice and promise not to guess which color might be out of print titles.

2. I have way (waaaaaay) too much shoujo on my list, so I'm officially soliciting opinions on which series are the best to buy.

3. This was me trying to make my list shorter...?? orz I definitely have some trimming to do.
wednesday_10_00: (chizuru - panic!)
bk1 is being swallowed up into some (e-book?) site called "honto." It looks like they are still going to accept international orders (if you have placed an international order before--wait, what?), but there's nothing about shipping policies, so who knows if they will still offer SAL shipping or not. (Maybe we should panic about that one.)

Gah. GAH.

^ The current arrangement of my Sekaiichi Hatsukoi DVDs. Setting aside my annoyance that they labeled the episode 12.5 DVD cover "volume 12.5" (instead of 6.5, like it should be), I'm fussing over the extras discs. (The ones currently between 2-1 and Spirited Away, not volumes 0 and 6.5 12.5, which are staying where they are.) Should they go

1. [series 1] [series 1 extras] [series 2] [series 2 extras]
2. [series 1] [series 2] [all extras]
3. just move the damn extras off the shelf
4. something else

...?

(Yes, I seriously think about these things.)

(More importantly, I'm sad that the second series looks like it's not coming with any extra manga booklets. I wonder what kind of pressure Nakamura is under to churn out as much manga as possible. Almost makes me feel guilty for wishing she would write more Takano/Ritsu already. Almost.)

I hate Amazon, film at 11 )
wednesday_10_00: (...)
but have bought anyway stupid TRSI sale:

* Yuu Yuu Hakusho Blu-ray bundle - 64.99
* R.O.D. complete Blu-ray set - 99.98
* Special A, set 2 - 5.99
* Yawara collection 1 - 34.99
* Kobato bundle - 37.99
* [thing which is a present for somebody who is probably not reading this, but I won't say what it is, just in case] - 12.99

also, from Amazon [insert long, boring tale of woe here]:
Special A, set 1 - 18.39 + 2.98 shipping

(also the third set of Utena, but I knew that was coming and had budgeted for it, so it doesn't count but if you WERE going to count that, and the next disc of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, it would be another $120)

total damage to December budget: 278.30

(My favorite part of that is the 12.99 present. $265 for me, $13 for you! I am a terrible person.)

In my defense, though, the retail price for all this is over seven hundred dollars (714.78 to be precise), and I did actually manage to restrain myself from buying everything I wanted, so...it could have been worse?

oh god my poor budget orz

Thanksgiving: Survived invasion of 11 family members, though my mom may have gotten a few new gray hairs getting ready for all our guests. For me, the worst part was a bit of embarrassment when my uncle accidentally pulled Meisai Tengoku off the shelf. I tried to stop him, but as soon as my back was turned, he pulled it back off to have another look. -_- Listen, I told you that you didn't want to see it for YOUR benefit. Because, you know, I was pretty sure you didn't want to see army guys having sex with each other.

Ten year class reunion: Managed to actually act like an adult for one night. Go me.

I didn't have a lot of opportunity to sit around reading any of my new gay porn shipment this weekend, so in lieu of a manga report, a brief comparison of online bookstores: cut for arithmophobes )

Somebody demanded suggested that I write about today's therapy session.

Not quite as exciting as my last shopping spree. )

You know you're really crazy when you develop your own damn rating system. Especially when said system includes made-up words.

A = sweh
B = heh
C = meh
D = bleh
F = ylehck

...Keeping in mind that I'm liberal with my swehs. There's an unlimited number of exclamation points I can add when I come across something REALLY good.

γ§γ‚‚εˆ†γ‚Šγ‚„γ™γγ¦γ„γ„γ§γ—γ‚‡γ†οΌŸγ‚„γ£γ±γ γ‚γ‹γͺ...

Moving on... )

Edit: I forgot to mention, as a warning for [livejournal.com profile] sara_tanaquil, or anyone else who wanted it, the new Suzuhara manga does NOT have the Koyubi story in it. :(

Edit #2: If I'm not around so much the next couple days, it's because I'm at the Returning JETs conference. Oh god, morning commute in the direction of Tokyo. KILL ME NOW, PLEASE.

Pop quiz: Of [livejournal.com profile] mangaroo, [livejournal.com profile] spacealien_vamp and myself, who lives ONE HOUR away from Tokyo and can buy this stuff anytime?

Oh god. )

Anyway, back to my life (or lack thereof) as normal now. For two weeks. >.>

So I ended up getting the Sony camera after all. I did a lot of hunting around Akihabara, but the Casio is too new; no good deals to be found. Even at its best price it was 12,000 more than what I paid for the Sony (I think the difference in retail price is only 5,000). After that, I headed up to Ikebukuro for more fangirlish shopping. There were a couple times that I almost passed on getting something, but then I was like, "It's my BIRTHDAY!" and bought it. I only stopped when I decided I couldn't carry any more (the Comiket catalogue is HEAVY). So, in addition to the camera (including memory stick and case), I got ten volumes of manga (including the expensive hardcover Mesai Tengoku vol. 2), three doujinshi (including two by Nitta Youka, [read: 20 bucks each]), Comiket 68 catalogue, new issue of Ciel (second-to-last chapter of Koicha! T_T), a random Bread Cat [please, don't bread your pets!] from a UFO catcher machine, and a Tsubasa stationary set. I didn't have any cake, but I did stop and get ice cream from Baskin Robbins.

total damage: 57,000円 )

For the rest of the day I think I'll be cleaning (my poor apartment is such a disaster right now) and reading manga.
