Non-Shopping Bonanza 2005
Pop quiz: Of
mangaroo,
spacealien_vamp and myself, who lives ONE HOUR away from Tokyo and can buy this stuff anytime?
The pile of stuff:

The pile of stuff, more spread out (technically some of the Ghibli stuff is for my brother, but it looks more fun all together):

Cutest pencil board EVER:

And, because I know Some People will wonder what manga are in the giant piles:

(The observant among you may notice that Kirepapa 2 is there twice...that's because after I bought the first copy I discovered there was a special first pressing edition with a drama CD, which stars Midorikawa Hikaru and Sakurai Takahiro. Also, I'm too lazy to retake the picture, but I forgot to put Steady Study in the pile because I'm in the middle of reading it.)
I don't even want to THINK about how much money I spent. And just a few weeks before Christmas?? Ugggh. I really need to learn self-control when it comes to shopping. I place all blame on
mangaroo, since she said she's not really happy unless I'm shopping. I made myself feel less guilty about buying so much by shoving as much manga and doujinshi as I could into her shopping basket.
Anyway, I think we all had a good time. (I know I did, anyway.) Aside from shopping, we also ate lots (Indian food, Italian food, potato feast), went to(and slashed random things at) the zoo, Chiba Port Tower (lit up just like the JDG building!), Disneyland, and the Ghibli Museum. I may or may not have shirked some work responsibilities to do some of this. *cough* (I'm afraid everything but the shopping is nothing but a blur now. But hurray for
spacealien_vamp who actually wrote up a proper report of our weekend.) I muchly look forward to next May when
mangaroo,
sara_tanquil, and
wrenwyn will all come and visit. (Because it's never too early to plan: Are we going to go to Disneyland? Or DisneySea? Or both?)
Special bonus:Cripple Gingerbread Man Love!

Anyway, back to my life (or lack thereof) as normal now. For two weeks. >.>

Do you have any idea when that Fruits Basket Pinky:ST will show up? Lemme know when you need teh moneyz for that. :)

Ah, you must have missed the edit I made to the original post; they're supposed to show up in December sometime. I have no idea when. If they show up after I've gone home for Christmas (Dec. 14), then I won't be able to send them out until next year.
I'll let you know how much the total cost will be after I've shipped it.

Why're there two colours for the gingerbread men?

Well, this is also five days worth of shopping...
Why're there two colours for the gingerbread men?
One was ginger and one was cocoa.

Planning ahead is always a great idea. What do you think,
Your pile of purchases looks lovely! I get to live vicariously. I haven't been doing anything but x-mas shopping lately, oh and saving for Japan and the wedding. But I do know what you mean,
(=^.^=)

Sadly, I did notice the second Kire Papa. I was sitting here thinking "You're sending that to your brother too?"
Also, squee for Tsumi to Kuchizuke, which I spied in the middle of the pile! You have to let me know what you think of its
totally clichedplot. I loved it. Just ordered the new Higashino You from bk1 yesterday... along with Uso to Kiss... and Solfege... and Gerard et Jacques.no subject
Remember my birthday shopping spree (http://www.livejournal.com/users/wednesday_10_00/35413.html)? This was like five days of that (minus the camera, thank god). >.>
"You're sending that to your brother too?"
*dies laughing*
You have to let me know what you think
Actually, I read it already, since I picked it up back on Friday. ("Ooh, this is the F1 racer one! I've been looking for this!") The first story was so stupid I loved it, but I was kind of meh about the rest. (The story about the brother really needed to be a little bit longer to make me like him.) But now I have the first volume about the model and his photographer boyfriend, so maybe I'll appreciate that story more.
Uso to Kiss
Yay!

I wouldn't worry too much about that, unless you're worried about running out of money/room on your credit card while you're here. Even as busy as it was when we were there on Sunday, we only waited in line for about five minutes to buy tickets. Tickets cost 5,500 yen, by the way (~$50).
But see, you have to decide if you want to go to Disneyland (http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tdl/index_e.html) or DisneySea (http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tds/index_e.html). I like Land better, personally, but you might like Sea better, since it's less about rides and more about shows.
spending more on myself close to the holiday, than everyone else.
In my defense, I have been buying stuff and stashing it away for presents since this summer, but I still have a lot more I need to buy. I'll also have to dip into my savings to do so, which I was hoping to avoid, but it's not like I'm going into debt or anything, so I'm not too worried.

I haven't even bought anything for Xerxes yet...but I've been done shopping for the girls since September!

It's depressing, isn't it? It's a good thing I like shopping so much. Haha. Ha.

EVERYBODY needs a good shopping spree once in a while.
I just too it too often.
