What, no Rodney icons yet? I have to fix that...

So, thanks to

gnine's excellent advice on where to download ~~and me spending all day yesterday glued to my computer screen~~, I'm totally caught up on Atlantis. Now I am simultaneously filled with joy and sorrow; joy because I love this show and these characters, but sorrow because now I have to wait until July for new episodes?? Noooooo! T_T

So, the official request: BRING ON THE FIC RECS.

Slash, gen, I don't care, I love Rodney and John and Ronon and ~~Meredith~~ Rodney and Zelenka and Teyla and Rodney (and did I mention Rodney? Because I love this man with the burning passion of a thousand prematurely red giant suns) and I NEED MORE OF THEM, DAMMIT. These people are EATING MY BRAIN and I feel certain that large quantities of fic is the only way to cure me. (And when I say "cure me" I mean "make me even more obsessed.")

=D Some of my fave SGA fics are saved in my memories. I'm strictly biased towards John/Rodney. Also, the harlequin_sga that ran a while back produced some really awesome fic.

miss-porcupine writes excellent gen SGA fic. Martha Wilson (or Victoria Custer) also have some good stories on their page.

There's an amusing Doranda-ep based meme here with lots of Rodney. Some fics listed are better than others.

She is good. The Atlantis/Sky High crossover is particularly fun. A few of the fics are quite dark. (scroll down past the Supernatural)

How much have you watched so far and are you coming over here ever?

I just finished marathoning up through second season episode...16 or 17, something like that.

I've also been playing Phoenix Wright (on the 4th chapter) and watching Dr. Who (middle of second season). So all my free time has been spent catching up on one thing or another.

This weekend we were seeing off the study abroad student who had been staying with my parents, but next weekend is free for me starting Saturday if you want to plan something.

I don't think I have anything going on this weekend. I'll try to find out if

Did she find anyone to buy her car?

Yes, at the last minute. She was just about to donate it to Goodwill, but the buyer convinced her to sell. (She was literally having nightmares that something terrible would happen after she sold the car, and she would be responsible.) It was a bit of a hassle, though, because the buyer was flying in from California on a late flight, so my parents had to drive her to the airport at midnight to make the sale.

So, this weekend is all good on my end if you want to come over. (

mereflair said she could come over, too.) My parents are having some friends over for an hour or two on Saturday evening, but I think we can manage to stay out of their way. (Unless you want to join them in watching an old home video that shows tiny!Denise. [But they can be kind of loud and obnoxious, so I think we'll prefer to stay out of their way.])

Should I be downloading some episodes of SGA season three so you can watch while you're over here?

I think my mom would be sad if I watched SGA without her. But is there anything I should bring? I have the Before/After stuff, plus the supernatural drama series I bought, and various shows I got off TV (HanaKimi, Conan, etc.).

I didn't know you were watching SGA with your mom. I wouldn't want to deprive her, so we'll skip that. (Though I do have a couple discs of SG-1...) I also have some games we can play on the Wii, and some manga I just got from Amazon (not much, it was mostly magazines and PW books).

Oh, bring Before and After! Maybe we can get my mom to watch some of it. (I don't know how impatient she'll get with not understanding the narrator, but I know she'd like the remodeling stuff.)

This is one of the all time best Rodney fics IMHO. Rodney/Sheppard. Rodney temporarily takes control of Atlantis when Weir is out of commission and there are spreadsheets.

JULY IS TOOOOOO LONG TO WAIT IT'S CRUUUUUEL!

I have a few delicious recs here. (Check out the vids tag, too, there's some marvelous ones in this fandom.)

Some of my favorite authors:

Gen (mostly with a TEAM and/or John-Rodney friendship focus):

friendshipper writes great, exiting stories with lots of plot & h/c.

Cybersyd is on ff.net, but don't let that stop you, because she's a very fine writer, with a Rodney focus and a Zelenka focus (and who doesn't love Radek, really?)

Pentapus does slashy gen, or sometimes gen-ish slash, but with style either way.

Slash (all McShep, pretty much, I am hardcore OTP. Er, when I'm not reading OT4 or Rodney/Ronon or Rodney/anyone...)

Speranza was linked above, you're doing yourself a disfavor not to read hers. Soso good. and "Written by the Victors" is practically required reading in McShepville, and is so much <3 & WOW that I can't try to convey it.

fiercelydreamed is...gahh. Right now I'm kind of worshipping her writing. So frickin' beautiful. "Unidentified" is one of the few fics that has made me cry from happiness. It's got a happy ending that makes me tear up. Eeee. (She does awful things to Rodney, in the best of ways!)

Eleveninches does CRACK. It's really funny, though.

Amireal does fun h/c with her fun slash.

...Oh yeah, and there's my own fic, of course *cough*. Mostly technically gen, though it gets slashy. And I can guarantee a Rodney focus for most of it (except when John distracts me...) Angst and/or cute are my major settings. Except when I'm putting them on Pern...

Not only is July too far away, but once it gets here I'll only have one episode at a time! But...but I'm ready to watch like three more seasons, now! T_T (This is the problem with marathoning a series until you get caught up.)

Apparently Sam? I was all, "Aww, poor Radek!" during that scene in Trio. Come on, Sam, what's not to love? Just because he didn't get your pigeon joke...!

I think it's telling that

gnine and I are already panicking over whether or not we'll get a 6th season when we haven't seen 5th. But...WHAT IF WE DON'T GET A 6TH SEASON!? Need mooooooooooore!

sheafrotherdon does really just so cute stuff. Especially her long AU, "A Farm in Iowa". (Beware, there are a LOT of AUs in this fandom...and they're wonderful...and addictive!) She also does fun fests, like her most recent, this past Friday, in celebration of David Hewlett's b-day, which she invited everyone to post as many pics of the 40 years of awesomeness that is David Hewlett. Definitely worth checking out, LOTS of beautiful Rodney shots!

Yes. Yes, yes, YES. So much so that I don't know how I didn't see it before. (I think I need to rewatch the first three seasons now...)

I was going to tell you, actually, that I watched both of your vids and I LOVE them. All for You is so adorble and made me giggle and squee the whole way through (like "EEEE, look, they're so in love!"), and What is Eternal is just so PERFECT. You did a really great job on both of them. ♥ ♥ ♥

I hate you. Because now I really want to watch this series and I HAVE NO TIME. ;_;
